Each year we focus on a chapter of Jamaica’s rich musical history:

IRD2023 spotlights today, this pivotal era that has helped to shape Jamaican music and its impact. Dancehall, born on the shores of Jamaica, has traveled the globe. Its direct influence can be heard in a range of music genres including Hip Hop, Afro Beats, Reggaeton and EDM.

IRD invites the Media, Reggae platforms, bloggers and fans around the world to join us, as we salute this era of Jamaica's rich musical legacy.

At the core of Reggae music is the powerful affirmation of "One Love" originated by Marcus Garvey and popularized in song by Bob Marley. As we celebrate each year, we remain connected to the roots of Reggae and recall the affirmation.
